Skill density over headcount.

We hire senior people and give them full ownership of outcomes. When a role appears here, it's real — we don't collect CVs.

Empower BI runs on small, senior teams that own what they ship — from data platforms for billion-dollar enterprises to production AI systems built in weeks. We train like we deliver, and we'd rather leave a seat open than fill it with the wrong person.

What our principles mean for you

Skill density

— your team is senior peers, not a pyramid. Nobody here exists to be leveraged.

Accountability

— you own outcomes, not tickets. The work is yours end to end.

Outcomes

— what you build ships to production at billion-dollar enterprises, and stays there.

"Data platforms that run multi-country retail operations"

Data Engineer

GCP · BigQuery · Airflow · Python

Fully remote (Romania) · Bucharest office available

Full-time · B2B or employment contract

Mid-Senior to Senior (hands-on)

ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll join Empower BI's data engineering practice, working on multi-country data & AI programs for billion-dollar European enterprises — platforms that power operational dashboards, core supply-chain processes, and advanced forecasting models used across multiple markets daily.
The work sits at the intersection of data engineering, forecasting, and cloud-native automation, on a modern GCP architecture. The environment combines continuous development with long-term platform stability — quality delivery over speed for its own sake.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build and optimize pipelines and models in BigQuery
  • Design, maintain, and automate Airflow DAGs
  • Develop clean, scalable Python data workflows
  • Enhance and maintain a large GCP data ecosystem
  • Work with analysts and data scientists to turn business needs into robust data solutions
  • Own data quality, reliability, and operational continuity
  • Contribute to long-term platform evolution

A mix of hands-on engineering, data-architecture thinking, and incremental modernization.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have:
  • Strong working experience with BigQuery
  • Airflow
  • Python
  • Good understanding of GCP data services
  • Strong SQL and data-modelling fundamentals
  • Basic DevOps awareness: Kubernetes, service accounts, CI/CD fundamentals

Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with ML models or MLOps concepts

Profile:
hands-on, autonomous, and reliable in delivery; comfortable in a distributed, multicultural environment; equally at home in development and maintenance. A calm, structured execution style is a plus — this work values stability and clarity.

HOW WE HIRE
1 Intro conversation — 45–50 minutes with an Empower BI recruiter: your background, the role in detail, mutual fit.
2 Technical interview — ~60 minutes with our senior engineers: scenario-based, hands-on, on the stack you'd actually use.
3 Leadership conversation — for senior roles, a final discussion with Empower BI leadership.

WHY EMPOWER BI
  • Small, senior teams with full ownership of what they ship
  • Work on some of the largest forecasting and supply-chain data programs in Europe
  • Long-term programs with stable roadmaps — direct impact on how enterprises across ten-plus markets operate and decide
  • We train like we deliver: structured internal enablement, including a bench of Claude Certified Architects
  • Skill density over headcount, accountability over ceremony, outcomes over optics

"Cloud automation inside a Fortune 500 financial services enterprise"

Senior Full Stack .NET Engineer

Azure

Fully remote (Romania) · Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca

Monday–Friday, 10:00–19:00 Romanian time (US collaboration overlap)

Full-time · B2B or employment contract

Senior (10+ years)

ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll build cloud automation and API platforms for a Fortune 500 US company in Financial Services and Insurance — one of Empower BI's long-standing enterprise clients. The platform enables self-service cloud provisioning through a modern API automation layer: a live production system that needs a steady hand, alongside planned greenfield initiatives where you'll help define frameworks, architecture, and best practices from the ground up.
You'll be the lead .NET engineer working alongside experienced SRE and platform engineers — high ownership, high autonomy, in a mature, structured enterprise environment focused on long-term delivery rather than firefighting.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own and maintain a live production application — ongoing improvements, not just keep-the-lights-on
  • Design, develop, and deliver new full-stack .NET applications for upcoming cloud initiatives
  • Develop and maintain APIs and messaging solutions in C# on the .NET stack
  • Build cloud-native solutions with Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure API Management
  • Implement DevOps and automation solutions, with strong PowerShell scripting and API integrations
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (TDD)
  • Work in an Agile Scrum setup with international teams
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for APIs, configurations, and processes

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have:
  • 10+ years in software engineering
  • Strong C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 6/8 with full-stack exposure
  • Solid Azure experience: Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure App Services
  • Strong grasp of SOLID principles, design patterns, and 12-factor app guidelines
  • Experience with distributed systems — scalability, reliability, fault tolerance
  • Hands-on asynchronous programming and API-based integrations
  • Strong automation and scripting skills, especially PowerShell
  • Test-Driven Development experience (xUnit, Moq)
  • At least 1 year with an SPA framework (React, Angular, or Blazor)
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills

Nice to have:
  • Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation
  • Messaging or event-driven architectures (e.g. Azure Service Bus)
  • Minimal APIs or lightweight API frameworks
  • Basic NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience in enterprise environments with strong governance
  • YAML configurations

HOW WE HIRE
1 Intro conversation — 45–50 minutes with an Empower BI recruiter: your background, the role in detail, mutual fit.
2 Technical interview — ~60 minutes with our senior engineers: scenario-based, hands-on, on the stack you'd actually use.
3 Leadership conversation — a final discussion with Empower BI leadership.

WHY EMPOWER BI
  • High ownership and autonomy as the lead engineer on the platform
  • Greenfield cloud automation and API platform work inside a Fortune 500 enterprise environment
  • Modern Azure services, DevOps practices, and cloud-native architecture
  • Small, senior teams; we train like we deliver — including a bench of Claude Certified Architects
  • Skill density over headcount, accountability over ceremony, outcomes over optics
